Adnan's Story by Rabia Chaudry | Book Review

Who has listened to season one of Serial?  Who thought that it was amazing, and WAY better than season two?  I was super excited that after season one of Serial, I could continue learning more about Adnan Syed's case by listening to the Undisclosed podcast.  By the way, season two of Undisclosed = WAY BETTER than season two of Serial.

Adnan's Story by Rabia Chaudry

What better way to continue learning about Adnan and his case than by listening to Rabia Chaudry tell his story, intertwined with her own.  Rabia was the person who brought Adnan's case to Sarah Koenig, who then delved into it and Serial was created.  Rabia is also one of the three hosts of Undisclosed, and most importantly, a very close family friend to the Syed family.

Adnan's Story is much more in depth than anything that Serial put out.  It's also more complete than Undisclosed, because it focuses on Adnan himself, instead of his case.  This means Rabia could weave certain details and events into the story, instead of just focusing on the case itself like Undisclosed does.  I listened to this book on Audible in a matter of days.  Chaudry's descriptiveness and clarity in which she recalls the events surrounding Adnan's case over the years is impeccable.

I feel like this review is a little half-assed, though I don't mean it to be!  Really, if you've listened to Serial, and to Undisclosed, you NEED to read or listen to this book about Adnan's case!  It's really hard to give any synopsis on since the case is so well known now.  A lot of interesting facts that I'd not heard on the podcasts came out, so I also don't want to spoil THAT for anyone!

Next up, I'll have to check out Asia McClain Chapman's story!
