5 Favorite Summer Songs for Friday

This has been the LONGEST WEEK EVER!  Which is crazy, because I only worked 3 days!  Today I'm headed with the bears down to Vero Beach for the weekend.  This is seriously the first time since driving up from Orlando when we moved (3 years ago) that I've driven longer than an hour.  BUT I have a cute little co-pilot and a couple sleepy boys in the back, so we're ready to go!

Here are 5 songs that are on my playlist right now for the trip.  Yes they're all country.   I've pretty much discovered that if I like the first line or two of the song, I'm going to like the whole song!   I wonder if I could listen to only these for the 4-5 hours?  I'm not trying-  there are a couple audio books and a few podcasts that I also have in store!

1.  John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16 - Keith Urban
Favorite Line: "I'm a two-strike swinger, I'm a Pepsi-Cola / I'm a blue jean quarterback saying 'I love you' to the prom queen / in a Chevy…"

2.  Sounds of Summer - Dierks Bentley
Favorite Line: "These are sounds goin' down in a nowhere town / Underneath a wide open sky…"

3.  Hell of a Night - Dustin Lynch
Favorite Line: "All we need is a July hot Saturday night / A couple cans all cool and the needle on full / and a countryside...

4.  Moonshine in the Trunk - Brad Paisley
Favorite Line: "Well they say that's how the Duke boys / and NASCAR started out / They were haulin' bootleg liquor / And look where they are now…

5.  I'm to Blame - Kip Moore
Favorite Line: "Where there's a do not touch, my finger print done stained it / Where there's a train wreck, sit on back and watch me crash…"

  2. LOVE these country songs! Hope you have a great weekend!

  3. I would love to be going to the beach today, but will settle for the pool :) I don't listen to country much anymore, I was a die hard 80s and 90s country fan though (still am!). I will have to check these out, I need to get some more variety on my playlist for summer! Stopping by from Oh Hey Friday...first time here so it's nice to meet you! Have a fun weekend!

  4. I'm going to try! I realized after getting packed and the car loaded that I didn't bring the laptop. But then again where I'm staying doesn't have internet so it's just as well!

  5. Hehe I'm not generally a fan of the country that is out today but these guys are the exception. They definitely have more of a twang than lots of the others right now!

  6. Unfortunately there won't be much beach goin' for us either. And right now it's DOWNPOURING! Older country is my favorite. Even going back into the 50s- 60s. I'm not a big fan of a lot of hats out today. But they DO have some good 'driving' songs!

I grew up with summer road trip filled with classic country. To this day, there's nothing better than the open road with the windows open and great music!

    Great songs on your list!!

  9. Thanks! I love some classic country when I'm driving as well. Actually I like Classic Country all the time! It's getting harder and harder to find a good station to play it though, even with Pandora!

  10. Haha I find it so very hard to find good Country artists that are actually COUNTRY right now. He's one of the few, for sure!

I love comments! Let me know what you think!
