Spring Forward! | Weekending

I may or may not have been complaining for months about the time change.  I'm happy to be back on Daylight Savings Time- getting lighter earlier, and staying lighter later makes it so I'm not asleep at 7pm, and not wanting to wake up at 7am.  It's a little while still before the days are that long, again, but I can feel it getting better!!

We kicked the weekend off Friday, with a little Gold Rush marathon/ season finale.  I'm not sure what we're going to do after the special this coming Friday!  You know you're old when your Friday nights consist of wine and TV!

Saturday, we got all dressed up for the first time in forever, and went to a coworker's wedding.  It reminded me a lot of our own- out in the middle of nowhere, a quick ceremony, and low-key afternoon reception.

Since we were all did up, afterwards, we stopped in Tallahassee and watched The Duff .  It was an okay movie- definitely a chick flick, but I related with the main character's sarcasm!  We were good and didn't purchase a bunch of movie food, so when it was over, we went to The Melting Pot.  It was the first time I'd been, and it was so good!  Scott and I both had steak (him fillet, me teriyaki marinated sirloin) and split a Yin Yang desert.

We didn't get home until after 10:00, which is a late night for us!

Sunday, was an around the house day.  We decided to start some spring cleaning- one room a weekend.  We figured we desperately need to get our bathroom under control.  I've got (and have had) plans for this (and every other room in the house) for a long time.  I think it's time to act on them.

We rounded out the evening with Gone Girl.  Scott is now terrified of me, so I'd call that a success!  I think I need to read the book- the movie seemed awfully long at some points.

  2. It was so good but definitely something that takes a little planning- we were there 2 full hours, for our entree and dessert! Since I hardly ever watch movies, and it's even more rare for me to pick one to watch... he had some pretty colorful language to describe my selection!

I've been meaning to try to do the whole clean one room a weekend thing too but haven't started. I love a clean house but hate cleaning. By the way, I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award.

  6. I still need to read Gone Girl. I refuse to watch the movie without reading the book first. I haven't been to Melting Pot which is crazy since every city I have lived in has one. I need to go soon! Sounds like a great weekend!

  7. Yeah I really wanted to read the book, but Scott had a BOGO coupon for Redbox, and that was the only thing that popped out at me to get!
