Dead Sea Mud Mask | Review

A while back, I think I mentioned that I am the absolute worst about taking care of my skin- I'd forget to take my make up off more nights than I would remember.  Then, winter came in full effect in North Florida.  Doesn't mean much, but the air is dryer, and it does get chilly.  My skin was SO dry, that I would immediately come home from work, wipe the make up off and just load up on Ponds.

While perusing Brandbacker, I saw the Pure & Essential Minerals Dead Sea Mud Mask.  I did a little research on Amazon, and decided it was worth seeing about getting a sample.  By research, I read bunches and bunches of great reviews, and pretty much all of the negatives- that way I knew what to watch out for.  I've used it once a week for a couple of weeks now, and I definitely notice an improvement in my skin.

When I first opened it, the grayness kind of had me- it looked 100% like MUD.  It does have an odor- not necessarily unpleasant, just different- and you can definitely smell the eucalyptus oil.  I put a generous amount on and let it sit for about 5 minutes the first time.  My skin is also fairly sensitive, and I'd read that some people had bad reactions to it.  It immediately felt cool and tingly, but not unbearably so.  It wasn't on long enough for the mask to dry completely, but my skin felt much cleaner and softer after.

The next week, since I didn't have any of the negative affects from my trial, I lathered it on for the full 10 minutes.  The first thing I noticed was that it didn't dry out my skin like other masks have.  The cooling/ tingly eucalyptus took a lot of the puffiness that I tend to have by Friday night, out from around my eyes.  It also opened up my pores and my moisturizer felt like it was going on

Since I only use it once a week, we'll see what kind of long term improvements (if any) it makes.  The best so far, is getting a nice deep clean feeling after having make up on all week!

Product provided to me free of charge to review, through BrandBacker.

  2. I'm beginning to see the benefits of all this skincare stuff! My skin feels sooo much better immediately after, but I haven't been able to see a real difference otherwise- though I take pictures before/after (that will not see the light of day I'm sure!) so I can look back and see if I notice anything.

I had the opportunity to try a dead sea mask from another great company & I loved it, I've been using it once a week & it's almost like a mini spa for the 10 minutes I get to let it soak in :)
