6 Years of Christmases

I was at work the other day and someone asked me what I was getting Scott for Christmas.  When I responded, "an AR Pistol," she said that was 'quite the romantic gift.'  Our gift-giving has changed drastically over the past six years.  Especially for birthdays and Christmases- we're really pretty good about getting something for the other 'just because' when we see something the other would like.  For instance, Scott brought 2 dozen Dunkin Donuts to work for me and my coworkers Friday.   Mmmm donuts.

So, over the past 6 years, here are the gifts he's gotten me...

2009- Friends seasons 1-3 on DVD-  Perhaps this is when I figured out he was a keeper.  I had all of the seasons on DVD  except 1-3, which I had on VHS!  He noticed and got them for me- I still watch the seasons now... even with repeats on Nick at Nite, TV Land, and TBS.  I am also counting down the days to the Netflix release, because that means I can watch them on my phone while he's driving.

2010- Tiffany Pearl Earrings- The only Tiffany's I currently own.  4 years later, I wear them every damn day, and have almost lost one a couple of times.  I think he's gotten his moneys-worth.
Straight of my Facebook from 2010.
2011- Coach Handbag- From Mall at Millenia.  Not cheap.  I stood there for at least two hours trying to figure out which bag I liked best out of four.  He sat there and watched- relatively quietly.  This is the first and last time he's taken me purse shopping.  His aunt gets me a new purse for my birthday and Christmas.  We love it- I get a new purse, he doesn't have to take me to get it.
Gah I still love that purse.
2012- North Face Fleece Jacket- Oh, and an engagement ring.  We get engaged over Christmas up in Maine.  The little shit had the ring in the center console the entire trip up from Florida.  I had no idea.

2013- Kreg Jig- At the height of my DIY/building phase, which I had started to document on here.  He got me the jig and I promptly built a coffee table.  That alone paid for itself

2014- Miter Saw- Yes, I already know what I'm getting this year.  See, we've gotten really bad at the whole surprise thing.  Really, if it's under $50 during the year and we want it, we get it.  If it's any significant money, we save up and gift it.  Sometimes early.  He also made the 12-hour trip to Maine possible.  This year, the present's so big, that my brother is also contributing to its purchase.  Which means more furniture to build!!

Tomorrow I'll be back to talk about what I've gotten him.  I, however, have no pictures of those things, so I'm going to have to run around collecting them.

Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself?

  2. Isn't it funny how things change after being together so long? We didn't even do gifts for any occasion this year!

  3. I know right? We both have relatively bad buyer's remorse, so we use birthdays/Christmases/anniversaries as an excuse to get us some that we've been wanting and rationalize it as being a "present"
