#NaBloPoMo: Finding My Voice

These prompts for NaBloPoMo are a little more thought-provoking than I sometimes like.  Today's prompt asks if I think I have found my voice on my blog, and techniques I use(d) to find it.

Here's the thing:  this blog is 10 months old.  Up until last month, I was doing well to post once a week.    I still haven't decided in what direction I want to take this thing.  I may not know for a while, or I may figure it out and then a few months later change it up.  At this point, I don't feel that I have found my voice, though I do feel my writing and content have improved.

So, the techniques that I use to try to find my voice?  Prompts and link ups such as Blogtober and NaBloPoMo.  I really wanted to get more comfortable with posting on a regular basis.  Meanwhile, these prompts aren't things I would think of writing myself.  Enabling me to have a guide, but still challenging me to come up with content based on the prompt.  It takes away that nagging voice in the back of my mind that keeps asking, "will anyone want to read this?"

The last thing this prompt asked, is the characteristics of my personality that come through in my writing.  I think the biggest is sarcasm.  Probably mixed with a few curse words.  Oh, and it probably comes across that I'm fairly obsessed with my dogs.  I hope it comes across that I'm happy and I enjoy my life immensley.  And probably, that I'm quite introverted, that I spend most my weekends exploring with my husband or reading at our house.
