What Makes Me Happy: #Blogtober14 Day 19

While my husband might tell you different, it really doesn't take much to make me happy.  He's the first to admit that before I lived with him, I lived like a "frat boy."  At times a "dirty little monkey."  Really, I was content with my dingy little college apartment, a bunch of cats, and a roommate that play Wold of Warcraft all day every day.

Shortly after we met, I moved into a house that was (only slightly) better.  I still lived in a shady part of town.  But I at least had my own washer and dryer.  The WoW-playing roommate came with- I had grown quite fond of him.  Like a 5th pet, really.

Having lived far worse than I do currently, the most basic things still make me happy:

  • The windows open on a chilly night, sleeping with 35 blankets.  And 3 dogs snuggled in.
  • Coming home with groceries to find that Scott picked up 95% of the same things when he ran to the store.
  • Books.  More specifically, books with long series because I get attached to the characters.
  • The antics of my dogs.  Sometimes I think they understand English.  And that they're plotting against us.
  • Friends on television.  I have the entire series on DVD and I'm excited for it to come to Netflix.  This will not stop me from watching it whenever it's on TBS/TVLand/Nick@Nite.
  • Gardening.  If I can get things planted before it's unbearable hot outside.
  • Sitting on the couch all day playing video games with Scott.
  • Ice cream from the local shop.
  • Going out to lunch.  We live so far away from most things, that we never just go out to lunch.  It's always eating and errands.
  • Random presents like these:
Rainbow splattering targets and gardening magazines
waiting for me when I get home

  1. I LOVE books with a long series too! I am the same way! I get really attached to the characters and i like knowing what happens to all of them. lol. And I will also watch Friends anytime it's on even though I own all of the series on dvd too. I don't know what it is about it when it's actually on tv but I can't look away

  5. Friends is coming January 1. I wish they would add BMW as well. Not gonna lie, I enjoy watching Girl Meets World on Disney Channel. I wish it would have come back to ABC or something, because it's a little TOO Disney-ish!

  7. It just makes me happy to see Corey and Topanga. And they had Harley on one episode, only I couldn't place him for sure until the end when he called Corey "Baboon" :)

  10. Hahaha yes! There's like an invisible line that hits about Ocala area. Anything south is hot and humid and miserable all the time. North Florida, it does get chilly during the nighttime. Right now we're looking at 40-50s at night, but it will drop below freezing for a night or two in December-January
