Best Advice EVAR! #Blogtober14 Day 12

It's safe to say that I've been given a lot of good advice over the years.  Some of it I asked for, some of it came unsolicited.  While "don't stick your finger in that light socket" is probably the one that's gotten me the furthest, some others that have saved me along the way...

  • "Break up with him.  Break up with him now"- From my best friends about every boy ever.  Except for my husband.  No, him, too.  But, because he's the only one that hadn't been scared off by THEM, I didn't listen.  Yay me.  Had I listened every time before that, though, I would have saved myself a lot of trouble.
  •  "Compromise"- This was one out of three topics that Scott's uncle covered in our wedding vows.  It's the only one we could both remember when he asked us what he said.  Thankfully, the vows and my father-in-law's speech as best man are now hanging on our wall for us to walk by every day.  And also, we compromise a lot.
  • "Don't Touch"- My mother says it to this day when we're in a store with lots of breakable stuff.  Looking back, it probably saved her thousands of dollars.  Now, when I'm in a store, I find myself telling Scott the same thing.
I really don't know why I can't think of more.  It's definitely not because of lack of advice received up until this point in my life.  I think it's mostly due to the fact that everyone knows that I'm quite stubborn, so regardless on how good the advice is that they give me.  I'm just not going to take it until I fall flat on my ass and see it for myself.

In lieu of such a short post, here's a picture of my sweet doggies.  Because I don't post enough about them over on Tumblr
Rylee, Hunter, and Diesel- the Bears of the Plantation.

I'd say that is all good advice. Imagine where we all would be if no one told us not to put our finger in a light socket. When I met my husband my girl friends all did the same thing to me. It is always good to think for ourselves. Your dogs are beautiful. I've got a dog named Riley as well.

  2. Thanks! It's funny now, because they all love him, and they're not sure why they didn't to begin with.We always say our dogs should be models, the way they pose so well for the camera! Riley is a good name! :)

  3. The breaking up part. I'm guilty of saying it to my best friend. Ugh I don't know. Maybe I don't want to see her get hurt by some idiot, and also because I (partly) don't want to share her with anyone. Yeah yeah I know. *l-a-m-e*

  4. There are plenty of idiots out there, though, so we'll go for mostly that :)

I love comments! Let me know what you think!
